The New Era baseball cap model 59FIFTY is regulation. Following is courtesy from a long time A's fan now in Las Vegas who explains how the different variations were worn:
For as long as I can remember, the A's players have worn the 59FIFTY green caps/gold bill/all white "A's" logo for home games when they wear their white jerseys with "Athletics" across the front. When I was a kid, that was the only cap they ever wore. For a good many years now, the A's players wear the 59FIFTY all green caps/white "A's" logo outlined in gold for road games when they wear their grey jerseys with "Oakland" across the front. They also have a 59FIFTY all kelly green (lighter green) cap/all white "A's" logo that whey wear when the team wears their kelly green alternate jerseys with "Oakland" across the front. Over the years I have watched the team in Oakland, the A's have had other alternate caps that sometimes come into use for a season or two to go with special alternate jerseys. Things could change next season, or they might stay completely the same. But as of the 2023 season, those three caps are the only ones the players use on the field on a regular basis (not counting special edition one-off 59FIFTY caps for Jackie Robinson Day, Allied Forces Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.).
