Bally’s and the A’s Las Vegas Ballpark

There has been incorrect and obsolete information regarding Bally's involvement with the A's Las Vegas Ballpark. First, Bally's has never planned to financially support the ballpark development. Their role is developing the infrastructure including a hotel/resort. Second, Bally's financial problems predated their $4.6B acquisition by hedge fund Standard General in February 2025.

Soo Kim, Standard General managing partner, said in July 2024: “The transaction provides Bally’s stockholders with a significant cash premium along with certainty of value for their investment or, if they elect to retain their shares, the opportunity to participate in the longer-term growth prospects of our expanded portfolio and significant development pipeline.

I dunno, man. I mean, Scotty Rogaine keeps telling me that Bally's is on the verge of bankruptcy. (Just like how, a few years ago, he said that The Sahara was about to declare bankruptcy.) And if you can't trust the ol' Cocktail Critic, who can you trust nowadays? 🤣
