If you want to see a good example of what spin looks like, this is from the Bay Area SFGate. They did not use any positive quotes from Manfred and took a negative spin to give a completely distorted meaning. No wonder people in that area are so clueless.

Often after a dishonest article, other reporters and other pundits repeat the same story without doing their own fact-checking. Then the public, hearing the same from several sources, assumes the story must be true. That is exactly what occurred in the above example.
 
What you're describing is known in Journalism as "circular reporting."

Given that the Las Vegas Stadium Authority just signed off on the necessary agreements for the Athletics to move to Vegas, it will be interesting to see how the Bay Area bozos and their allies at ESPN and Sports Illustrated try to negatively spin today's events.
